WestCord recently completed a substantial renovation of 104 rooms across the hotel. The project was led by WestCord’s own interior designer, and the Westers family (the owners) were closely involved at every stage.
The approach was also notably sustainable: energy-efficient installations and circular materials were built into the redesign from the start.
As for the rooms themselves, standards are high. Every room comes with an Avek-quality bed, high-fill-power down pillows (1,200 or 1,600 grams), a rain shower, the FAYR amenity line, a Nespresso machine, and climate control.
A few renovated categories worth knowing about:
- Superior Deluxe (40m²): modern and spacious, the flagship standard after the renovation.
- Superior Spa (40m²): same footprint, but has a private whirlpool in a separate bathroom area.
- Spa Room: this open-plan room has a king-size bed and a whirlpool in the bedroom itself

The hotel’s restaurant, Bar & Brasserie Lumen, takes its name from the Latin word for stream of light. Look up when you walk in: the ceiling is a dramatic sweep of filament bulbs that sets the mood before you’ve even sat down.
The kitchen serves what they call “Fritalian” cuisine: a blend of Italian, French, and Mediterranean cooking styles, expressed in classic brasserie dishes with a contemporary twist.
Local Eindhoven beers feature at the bar alongside some truly scrumptious cocktails. Brasserie Lumen is also open to non-guests!
